ABOUTOscar is a multidisciplinary filmmaker based in London, with over a decade of professional experience as a self-shooting director and editor.
He has a passion for telling unique, interesting and human stories in a broad range of topics, from science and technology to philosophy and social justice. He tailors his approach to the specific project, but his style could generally be described as dynamic and versatile, using fluid cinematic camera movement, inventive angles and a high contrast editing energy that fluctuates depending on the intended mood. “Jack of all trades, master of none” might be a well-known saying that feels like common sense, but not one that applies to Oscar, nor one that he particularly agrees with. Coming from a background in post-production, he developed a solid understanding of the principles of filmmaking, an eye for cinematic imagery, practical knowledge of workflows, and a broader, transferable skill set that proved invaluable once he became a full-time director and shooter.
The BBC series “Outliers” saw him take the helm on an ambitious project consisting of 30 short-form documentaries shot across the world, spanning a range of topics exploring niche subcultures and individuals on the margins of society. Since then, he has had a long-standing relationship with the BBC and has directed multiple arts and culture programmes.
He also has a long track record of doing commercial and creative work for brands like Meta, Oracle and the NHS. In recent years, his focus has shifted towards making meaningful independent documentaries with powerful personal stories at their heart.
